Lincoln Memorial

The Lincoln Memorial, located on the National Mall in Washinton DC, commemorates the 16 th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. Designed by architect Henry Bacon and constructed between 1914 and 1922, the memorial is based on the Greek temple, the Parthenon, and prominently features a sculpture of Lincoln by artist Daniel Chester French. The purpose of the undercroft rehabilitation project is to provide the public with a new immersive museum and to improve existing visitor services on the mezzanine level.

AAMs part in this rehabilitation includes a survey and restoration of the existing bronze hand railings and doors, as well as helping to create the new immersive museum space in the undercroft. This includes bronze paneling, bronze cladding and grilles, and new bronzes railings and doorways for the ADA entrances.
