Postition: Full time
Technical Experience: 3+ years

General Purpose:
Responsible for creating models and drawings for custom decorative metal fabrications, mechanical connections, and engineered systems including conceptual through Issued for Construction deliverables for fabrication and field installation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design shop drawings in both 2D and 3D models from engineering and architectural documents and drawings.
  • Incorporate site data captured via point clouds or site measurements and feedback.
  • Demonstrate moderate to advanced drafting skills with the following software: AutoDesk, Inventor, AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Perform other project required duties as assigned by Lead Designer.
  • Effective communication with Project Managers, Clients, and design teams.
  • Proficiency in document management
  • Active participation in internal constructability and design reviews.

Qualifications:

  • Vocational training or Associates degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience with CAD and 3D modeling.
  • Knowledge of structural steel and/or miscellaneous metals a plus.
  • Prior hands-on experience with metal fabrications a plus.
  • Prior experience with foundry/pattern work/casting processes a plus.
  • Ability to understand and follow detailed instructions.
  • Ability to produce neat and accurate work product.
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills within all levels in the company.
  • Ability to attain and promote good customer relationships (both internal and external).
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence.

Allen Architectural Metals is expanding our finishing division. We are looking to fill both full time and part time positions to assist on wide range of custom metal projects. These technicians will be working with our team during all stages of the construction process. Successful applicants must be detail oriented, comfortable using hand and power tools, working in variable climates, and in multiple locations. Artists, metal workers, and those with interest or experience working in preservation are encouraged to apply.

General Purpose:
Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all general ledger accounting data collection and reporting and serving as a business partner to manage cross-functional processes that intersect between Finance and Operations. This position will report to and follow the guidance of an off-site financial management team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the accurate recordkeeping and maintenance of all financial recordkeeping activities.
• Responsible for financial management activities such as billing, expense recording and budgeting.
• Provide job accounting assistance with Project Managers.
• Responsible for tactical execution of financial projects assigned by the off-site financial management team.
• Responsible for day-to-day partnering with operations to assist with procedures and administrative tasks.
• Serve as the contact point and engage with customers and vendors on a regular basis to maintain positive relationships.
• Assist or lead Human Resource and payroll initiatives.
• Complete office management activities as needed.

Supervisory Responsibility:
• This position will manage an onsite finance team.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5 years of hands-on accounting/finance experience
• Project Accounting Experience
• Self-starter with demonstrated initiative
• Viewpoint ERP experience preferred
• Previous experience partnering with operations personnel
• Ability to attain and promote good customer relationships (both internal and external).
• Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Excel. Basic skills in Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Travel Requirement:

The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that all assigned projects are properly scoped, designed
and executed with an emphasis on strict scope, budget, and schedule control. Must adhere to established
operating procedures and take an active role in continually improving these processes. Qualified individuals
will help successfully manage each assigned project from inception to completion while
maintaining approved budgets and schedules with the highest quality and in the most cost effective and
efficient manner.

Responsibilities:

      • Management & leadership of field projects: Plan, direct, and execute each project phase
        including pre-construction, construction, and closeout/and post construction services to
        ensure efficient process & successful completion of projects; Leads, mentors, and manages
        project team to prioritize and accomplish high impact project activities.
      • Build & Maintain Team Relationships: Excellent communication and people skills are
        necessary; foster and develop relationships between clients, subcontractors, and employees in
        a professional manner.
      • Preconstruction planning: Review project proposal to define scope, determine schedules,
        means and methods, staffing requirements, project objectives, and performance standards;
        Collaborate with Estimating in set up of projects and analyzing financial data throughout the
        project to identify potential jobsite problems in relation to initial estimate
      • Coordination: subcontractor & vendor procurement, labor, material, schedule & production for
        each phase of work, communication with other project managers and senior staff to coordinate
        and balance companywide staffing requirements
      • Contract Administration: Maintain a contract administration system to record & document
        project progress and agreements; Manage financial aspects of contracts.
      • Project Administration & Communication: Assist with change order management, travel
        arrangements, invoice approvals, shipping coordination and materials delivery, etc.
      • Documentation: Complete proper documentation regarding site conditions, critical paths, staff
        performance & incidents.
      • Scheduling: Developing workforce schedule and strategy during early construction phase to
        anticipate future challenges; Solving scheduling and administrative problems as they arise;
        Preparing and updating progress schedule monthly or as required by contract; Preparing the
        Contract Schedule of Values for approval by client
      • Safety: Responsible for overall project safety, obtaining final approval for a contractor-
        submitted safety plan, and compliance with the project safety plan. Includes: compliance with
        all regulatory (OSHA) requirements and AAM safety standards

Requirements & Skills

      • Bachelor of Science in Construction Management Degree preferred
      • Minimum of three years of construction related experience
      • Experience in Structural Steel, Miscellaneous and Ornamental Metals preferred. Experience in
        glass and glazing a plus.
      • Firsthand trade experience preferred.
      • Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
      • Ability to perform in the following areas: estimating, scheduling, budgeting/cost control, field
        supervision, financial reporting, client relationship, people skills, computer skills,
        safety/insurance, and effective written and oral communication skills
      • Practical field credentials & a thorough understanding of corporate & industry practices,
        processes & standards
      • Strong understanding of historic building preservation
      • Ability to understand project specifications, Architectural and Structural drawings
      • Experience with Procore preferred
      • Word, excel, outlook and digital photo documentation are essential
      • Familiarity with MS Project preferred
      • Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation.
      • Some travel required
