Coral Gables Lampposts
Commissioned in 1926, the “White Way’ lamp posts were designed by Denman Fink and Phineas Paist. Each of the four sides of the base contains a relief symbolic of the life of Coral Gables; Art and Architecture, Horticultural Planting, Labor, and Industry. Art and Architecture and Horticultural Planting reliefs are represented by beautiful women with symbolic implements and Labor and Industry are represented by men with strong features, symbolic implements, and tools. Alternating between each are the Spanish castle and rampant lion, both significant symbols used often in Coral Gables designs. In 1981 the Coral Gables White Way Lamp Posts were designated a City Historic Landmark Site.

Phase 3 should begin in Late 2024 /Early 2025.
