St. Paul’s Chapel

St. Paul’s Chapel was built in 1764 -1766. It is the oldest church building in Manhattan. George Washington prayed here after his inauguration in 1789. It is 100 yards away from the World Trade Center site, yet it survived the collapse of the Twin Towers on 9/11, thanks to a giant Sycamore tree. After 9/11, the chapel became a site of rescue and recovery for the more than 5,000 workers and volunteers who provided cleanup, meals, and comfort.

Allen Metals holds this job very near and dear to our hearts. This was a historic fence restoration, where we created new castings from original designs and fabricated a new ADA ramp entrance gate.
